On July 22, 2024, the Israel-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a crucial 4-way meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming COP 29.

The meeting included Alex Kaplun, President of the Chamber; Ashraf Shikhaliyev, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Kamran Huseynov, Deputy Director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy; Elad Shaviv, Head of Business Development Unit at IEC - Israel Electric Corporation; and Yael Gavish, Marketing, Communication, and Creativity Specialist at IEC - Israel Electric Corporation.

 

The discussions centered on several collaborative efforts and innovative strategies to ensure a successful and impactful COP 29. Key topics included strengthening bilateral relations and exploring renewable energy solutions as a joint effort to tackle climate change effectively.

 

Alex Kaplun highlighted the importance of these collaborative efforts, stating that "strengthening our bilateral relations through renewable energy solutions is essential for achieving our climate goals and ensuring a sustainable future." Ashraf Shikhaliyev echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the role of international cooperation in addressing global climate challenges.

 

Kamran Huseynov provided insights into Azerbaijan's renewable energy initiatives and expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Israeli experts to enhance these efforts. Elad Shaviv and Yael Gavish from IEC shared their experiences and strategies for implementing effective renewable energy projects, underscoring the potential for innovation and progress through such partnerships.
